St. Vincent de Paul

Let us do things in a decent and orderly manner.
1Cor. 14:40

The St. Eugene Catholic Church conference of St. Vincent de Paul was formed in April 1987.  A charitable organization that concentrates on helping families in need of food, medical supplies, and occasional assistance with utilities or gasoline. Our needs are met through donations from members of St. Eugene Catholic Church.

The members of St. Vincent de Paul meet regularly.  We search for spiritual growth and to become better church members as we carry on Christ’s work of love, charity and mercy.

We twin with Father Robert Hopwood of Ascuncion Paraguay.  He is chairperson of the conference helping natives by education and production of crops to help feed their families. They have been successful in purchasing needed equipment by selling some of the produce.  A medical clinic is also a project of Father Hopwood. It has grown over the years and sees many clients.  Our help is in $75 quarterly and several donations from the proceeds of the sale of religious articles.

The St. Vincent de Paul pantry maintains scheduled hours for clients to visit the pantry. Mondays and Wednesdays from 4:00 PM to 5:30 PM each week.

Those clients using the pantry may visit every 30 days if necessary.  Clients who have received cut-off notices from a utility company may request aid in meeting that payment. Other needs are met when they occur.   Clients may call the St. Eugene Catholic Church office to obtain help from a St. Vincent de Paul member.

St. Vincent de Paul is always in need of new members to help meet the many activities that take place.  Members who do not feel comfortable meeting the clients may choose to work by picking up food from the food bank once a month, stocking the pantry shelves, shopping for perishable foods each week, general cleaning, hauling boxes for recycling, helping with the religious articles case, or working on the Thanksgiving project.  We welcome new members and encourage you to become actively involved.
